Each week, Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital will award the winning High School with their Cruisin' Not Boozin' program for the 2010-2011 school year. Limit to one prize per school.
Cruisin' Not Boozin' is an award-winning program sponsored by Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital that brings children, teenagers and young adults face to face with the potentially devastating consequences of impaired driving. The program's peer-to-peer approach, featuring testimony by survivors who have received life-changing brain and spinal cord injuries, has proven effective in changing young people's attitudes about driving impaired. More than 300,000 elementary through college age students in the Tri-State region have heard these important presentations since the program began in 1989, and demand for speakers is highest during the spring prom season. The program underscores the hospital's mission to promote wellness and prevent injury.
Located in Malvern, Pa., Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital is a 148-bed hospital that responds to the complex needs of thousands of disabled men, women, and adolescents each year. The hospital treats a variety of catastrophic illnesses and injuries, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation and multiple sclerosis. Our Brain Injury Unit is one of the largest inpatient units in the United States and is regarded as a model facility.
